Stereo Problems!!!Anyone Else??

Ok, I've already had my headunit replaced once because the drivers door speakers keep playing really low compared to the passenger door. I hit a bump the other day and it did it again. I can barely hear out of the driver side speakers....

Anyone else have this problem?

If I were you (and on my second HU without a fix), I'd dig into the the trunk and check the connections on the Bose amp. Will take you all of 5 mins. Remove spare, with a 10mm socket (one nut), take out the left side truck floor.. there's the amp.

YES. I'm going through the same problem right now. I can't hear much out of my driver's side speaker. Is there a fix for this? Is it just the connections coming lose through the amp? I just bought some new Infinity's to put in the doors. Are you saying it'll sound the same or is it a headunit problem??

Thanks.

Yeah its weird. I think you're right. I don't notice it on the radio as I do on CD's. Hmm, looks like another trip to the dealer for me!

i have the same problem..i'm currently on my second HU and the front left speaker has already been replaced...the dealership wants to replace the stock amp..we'll see what happens...i also have an open ticket with infinity consumer affairs..just curious to see what type of recourse we have if they can't find a solution...hopefully we certainly didn't pay lots of money for the inferior equipment..

Well if the problem is only when there's a CD playing, there's nothing wrong with the amp. Wonder why they'd swap that out?

Re: Stereo Problems!!!Anyone Else??

I had the same problem, it took 3 head units to fix the bug. I did some research and think the problem is an internal amp in the head unit used to boost the digital single (why it only hurt cd's) where XM has a its own booster. the head unit is a clearion (sp?) unit bulit for infiniti.

Re: Stereo Problems!!!Anyone Else??

I had the same problem-took it to Infiniti but when they saw my JL Subwoofer/amp setup they tried to blame it on that. So I had a fit and told them they were incompetent after they charged me an hour labor charge. So I took it to me system installer. They pulled the head unit - saw a loose "seating" connection between the stock wires and the XM wires.
The tightened the connection - Problem fixed! 5 minutes flat.

Re: Stereo Problems!!!Anyone Else??

Guys/Gals,
I experienced the same problem with my non-BOSE headunit today. The driver (left) side speaker output was very low compared to the passenger (right) side when listening to the CD. The radio output levels are fine.

I preformed the following to diagnose the problem:
1) Checked the balance setting.
2) Reversed the inputs to my amp and verified the problem is with the headunit.
3) Switched to another disc in the changer with no positive outcome.
4) Verified the radio output was okay.
5) Ejected all 6 discs from the changer and reinserted one disc.

The single disc I inserted played fine! Perhaps when I ejected all the discs the headunit reset itself. This leads me to conclusion that this is not a loose connection issue, but a problem inside the headunit.

I don’t want to do this on a regular basis, but I’m glad everything is working okay once again.

Let me know if this solution works for you.
