Question on Window Problem.

Hello, I'm new to this forum. Own an 03 G35 coupe. I'm having this problem on my right side window where it does not go up or down. I'm the 3rd owner, and the second owner did not really tell me much about it. It was working fine when we test drove the car, but then a week later it started having problems. Sometimes it goes up and down fine, and other days when I try it, the window jerks a few times then it stops and I have to shut off the car for 20-30 mins then it works again. So I was wondering if this is a common problem or anything? Took it to the dealership and they said they'll fix it for $1000. It's hard times right now, tryna save some $. Is this fixable with out having to take it to the dealership?

i literally just got back from dropping my coupe off at the the dealership(still under warranty) and had the same problem with my passenger side window not working at all and it was stuck in the down position.
if you search around the forum there is a DIY on resetting the window motor but some say its just a temporary fix and the problem comes back in a few weeks or so. I have also found that alot of other members buy a new window motor from autozone or ebay which sounds like the problem your having.

the dealership gave me a loaner g37 sedan for the day so it was fun to drive around till i get my baby back later today.

good luck

lol $1000...welcome to the forum! i'm rather new here too...but am reading stuff all day on here yea, window motor problems are very very common on these cars. Here's a stick of how to fix the problem... it's just a temporary fix unless you replace the bushings as well (that's also included in the thread).

well that write up is very good detail exactly what i had to do, i found a rebuilt motor from an auto parts store cost about 125 hsnt had any problems since. i went with that one instead of a new one from the dealer because so many of the oem ones have problems.
