Rear axle TSB

My cars at the dealership now getting looked at for the rear axle clicking but they just called and said it wont be covered under my factory powertatin warranty. From what I have read on here it should be. Should it be covered?

Also, can anyone link me to the TSB for this issue so I have something to show them when I go up there and complain? I have searched with no luck tho.

^Thanks. I haven't seen that post yet and it looks like another person confirming that the dealership will take care of it under warranty. Now if I could just find the actual TSB I should be set.

I just went through the exact same thing a few weeks ago. It is not covered under the powertrain warranty, only the bumper to bumper warranty. They tried to charge me about $250. I pleaded and haggled with them and they finally agreed to do it for free. They should be aware of the TSB, but that doesn't have anything to do with warranty.

All they have to do it put grease into the axle? $250 to do that? F that.

If they won't do it for free, tell them you'll just take it to Nissan.

edit: Never mind. Looks like Nissan charges the same price.

Do it yourself. It is very easy to do. Just did this while changing the wheel bearing. Saved me around $400 total. You can buy the wheel bearing grease at an automotive store. I used Valvoline SynPower grease.

Yea they gave me the maintenance excuse. When they asked if I still wanted to do it for 250 I told them no way. I'll probably just do it myself. Thanks for the DIY

I went through the same nonsense .. my original dealership wanted to charge me $150 .. when I mentioned there was a TSB and that I was under warranty, he got an attitude with me .. I left and never looked back .. I found a new dealership and they performed everything for FREE .. it all depends on where you go and the type of service manager you deal with .. my new dealer even performed a "good faith" repair on my car for my transmission since the original warranty on the car expired a few weeks before I came in (I'm on extended now) .. call a few places FIRST and you'll find at least one that will do this for free no doubt .. good luck
