Thumbs up Painting Black Chrome?

Whats up peeps?
Anyways I have a question I've been trying to sell my factory wheels for awhile now and of course with all the things going around in the economy things aren't happening. So instead of me trying to sell them I was deciding on painting them instead, black chrome. Right now I have black R1 Grips, and instead of me buying completely new rims I was just going to use the ones I have and make them work. My original idea was to paint the factory gloss black, but like I said I already have black wheels so I was trying something different. The theme I have going now is black and silver as seen in my sig. So my question is does anyone have black chrome wheels or have done this in the past and what are your opinions on going this route?

If you actually buy the black chrome paint its not cheap and the prep is alot. If you buy the spray which just adds black and silver/grey paint together it will be cheap, but i have come to the conclussion it looks nothing like black chrome.

Heres a link to full kits depending on the size was looking to do my whole car black chrome at one point.

Well I have a partner that has his own shop which hes going to do it for me. I was just trying to see if it was going to flow with the silver and black theme I had going. Like I said its a cheaper alternative for me rather than buying all new wheels.

If you plan on buying $10 spray cans of "black chrome".... forget about it looking good, or even resembling chrome for that matter.

Alsacorp and a few other companies sell chrome products but theyre like $50+ for a can or pint. Plus you have to apply the proper basecoat and automotive clearcoat. The stuff Alsa sells isnt really a paint but a ground pigment which is the closest you can get to chrome without doing the actual chroming process to metal.

I saw a Bentley GTC bombing around town last week that had black chrome wheels from the factory... Definitely cool looking, if done correctly which = $$$$$$

The right way to do black chrome is to have it plated....like chrome plating only black. I had this process done a long time ago on motorcycle parts, even the exhaust and it never changed color like normal chrome.
