Want some backfire..
I hear that if you shut your car off with it in gear while it's moving(6MT only), then flip the key back to the ON position and pop the clutch, it will backfire like crazy until you shut it off.
I haven't tested this because backfires are bad for your CAT converters, but I remember reading about this about a year ago on here. I don't recommend doing it much though, because it's dangerous to lose your power steering or brake-assist while the car is moving... so if you do try this, do it in a parking lot or some straight road with no traffic, stop signs/signals or pedestrians.

You're probably not hearing actual backfire. IE: flames aren't shooting out of your exhaust. Unless you're running super rich and have HFCs or running catless, its not backfire.
What you're probably hearing is something similar to this
Pay attention to 0:32 and 0:39 when you hearing slight popping noises.
Thats simply how exhausts usually sound. I'm not sure, but usually, stock exhausts are made to deliver a certain back pressure so no unburnt fuel comes past the headers/cylinder. Aftermarket exhausts change all this, so you get a more noticecable "rasp" when letting off the throttle. Backfire is different. My evo backfired once a couple days ago and it sounded like a firework went off. lmao.

Lmao....what kind of backfire are you aiming for? 2 fast 2 furious backfire like pink flame s and whatnot? Ahhhh I cant even take my self serious....WHAT IS WITH THE SUDDEN INCREASE IN FAIL THREADS!!!
lmfaoooooo.. Well i just realized how incorrect the post was.. I meant that popping noice when you rev and release the throttle.. Lol no im not a ricer. Sombody calling me a ricer can hurt my feelings.. lmfaoo
i would think you'd want to get a different muffler or exhaust system to get that sound...when its really cold out i get a deeper louder exhaust note and i could see there maybe being a lil burble when i let off the gas but nothing that an aftermarket exhaust would give

Was my post correct? That noise is what you're hearing? If so, my G35 did that a lot when I revved it. It's normal, and not backfire. =P
I had a Topspeed exhaust w/ MR y-pipe
