synthetic oil
Re: synthetic oil
depends on your driving conditions. You should switch and run up to 4 or 4.5K and do a blackstone to make sure your car, driving habits, and climate allow you to stretch out the interval alittle.
Re: synthetic oil
Just make sure you don't switch to synthetic before 10,000 miles.

Re: synthetic oil
I'm not sold on the advantage of synthetic oils if you are going to change every 3500 - 4000 miles.
A regular good quality oil is fine, unless you want to extend your changes to 6-8K.

Re: synthetic oil
Used oil analyses have shown that our engines take longer to break in and settle down. Elevated wear metals have been found in engines that were switched to syn too early. I would play it safe and stick to the 10k mile rule. It won't hurt anything and with today's dino oils performing better and better, I see no reason to switch early.
