The car does NOT have that feature built in.
Kpierson has made a product that will lock the doors a few seconds after you turn the ignition on. It works pretty well. Check out KPTechnologies. The product is the "Wondow Roll-up".

No car on Earth locks its doors when you turn the car on. Only when you start driving over 5 or 7mph or so (depending on the car).
The G does not do this. Fortunately, there is a solution to this issue!
All you have to do is push the little "lock" button right near the window switches. Yes, it's THAT easy !!!

I have a friend that works at Tustin Infiniti and I have an appointment next week to have that feature added (auto door locks that is)? He says it is programmed throught the ECU and that only the dealer can do it, but it is free of charge! Not sure exactly how this works on the Infiniti, but he says it locks automatically at a certain speed and if like my Bimmer that is around 15MPH.

djrobx, yes my comment was based on "stock" cars, naturally. I am well aware of aftermarket mods that allow the car doors to lock automatically.
Personally, I think when auto locking doors comes with the car, it is a really great feature, but I am not at all confused, disappointed, or upset when a car does not have this feature.
The only thing locking your doors does is it stops bad people from getting in. It doesn't actually add any kind of "safety" (such as in the event of an accident) to have your doors locked.

There are stock cars that do lock the doors as soon as you start them, it was either a chevy or a ford, but I can't remember. I didn't believe it myself until I saw it. Most cars are set to lock between 5 - 15 mph. The Infiniti can NOT be programmed to auto lock. Unless they just happened to leave that feature out of the owners manual, the electronic service manual, and out of the hands of most dealers.
There are several fixes to this issue. The quickest and somewhat easiest way would be to wire a relay to the starter wire so that everytime the starter engages the doors lock. However, in the G, the only easy way to get the doors to lock is to do a 5 wire door lock interface. Since you only care about lock you don't need two relays.
Another way is the KPtechnologies module. We think our next module is going to be a speed controlled door locking module, but there is no guarentee on that.
A third way would be to use a pulse timer inside the door panel. You could hook it to the RAP wire and have it send a door lock pulse every time you start the car to lock the doors. Inside the door you can lock the doors with a simple ground pulse, no relay needed.

Well, I dropped off my car this morning and told the service manager I wanted the auto lock feature enabled (among other things) and he said no problem? Granted, I do not have the car yet, but either he has no idea what that is, or he know exactly what it is and will program it? I will post the results after I pick up the car this afternoon?

I don't think new Lincolns lock the doors when you start the car. That seems like a very stupid thing to do. Imagine you get in your car and you start the car before your passenger(s) has/have a chance to get in. They just get locked out as soon as you start it up, lol.
The 5mph-15mph feature makes the most sense, IMO.

I seriously doubt the new ones do too. I'm sure they only did it for a year or two, because it is a retarded feature. Speed controlled is the best way to do it, hands down.

You were right Bro! The auto lock feature is not available on G's? Glad you know your stuff, but it makes you wonder how your title could be Infiniti "Service Manager" and you know more than him? Oh well!
