Key Fob Question

Can i program a Nissan Key Fob to work with my Infiniti. I broke my infiniti fob but had an old nissan one from a previous car. Can i do this or not? I tried programming it like i would my regular fob. Its the same design and everything but it didnt work. Any trick here?

I'm sure it can be, I would call an Infiniti dealerhip to confirm. My friend's GTR FOB looks idential to mine, with the exception of the badging of course.

You can buy these FOB's off ebay much cheaper then what a dealer would charge. There's a thread on here somewhere about reprogramming these for cheap.

Yea, i just need to bite the bullet and buy another one. I had my fob modded to fit in the new fob casing but i was pressing on the buttons too hard last night and broke both pieces. Now i gotta do the whole damn thing over again!

They will tell you whatever just to get money out of you . A long time ago my friend had instructions to program a remote and brought it to the dealer to make sure it was the right way to do it which it WAS but they told him it will ruin his car but they can do it for 75 dollars . He was gonna pay but called me and i did it for him per the instructions he had in 10 seconds . Happened to me once also . I had a genuine infiniti chip key blank and wanted them to program it and they told me they couldnt unless i bought a key from them for 200 bucks . I then went to a different dealer and they did it for 60 bucks with my key . I think they also make up prices by how stupid they think you are .

I'm trying to buy a gtr key fob but I don't know if it will work as good Nissan told me they don't know if it will work. The question is will any gtr fob replace any Infiniti g35 fob or do the numbers actually count for something
