well it is about that time

well today driving home in the process of passing a tractor trailer in 5th gear in my 06 ob 6mt coupe with 50,000mi i noticed the dreaded clutch slip. i have a few questions.

1. does anyone have an idea of how long i could possibly run with this roblem without getting stuck on the side of the road?

2. a good clutch and flywheel combination that is comfortable, streetable, and with minimal to no clutch chatter if possible (i can live with it if i have to) but can eventually handle the torque form a vortech supercharger application

3. average price of combination and installiation?

4. if it is worth just doing it myself… or wether or not there is a chance of having an issue due to lack of knowing exactly what to expect from tearing into a nissan transmission for the first time? this is mostly due to the fact that i need my car on a daily basis. this can not be more than a 1 day project for me.

5. any other tips

OEM i got about 1000 miles or so on the clutch after slip. EASY driving, mostly highway. 500 tops in the city.

I have the JWT setup, but it chatters a bit at idle. might want to stick with OEM with an upgraded disc, perhaps the JWT disk?

damn your clutch is done awwwwful early. i know plenty of people with over 100k on stock clutches. on my old bimmer i got about 80k or so.

im curious to hear the answers to your Q's because im curious now too how much this will cost compared to the bimmer

lol this thread is old. i already did the replacement, and i bought my car from a girl… no offence to girls or anything, but i only put 5000 on the car before it started going. ACT streetlight flywheel, and ACT organic clutch with the hdss pressure plate make a great combination.

ACT clutches are the best, had this been current that would have been my recommendation especially with F1 in the future.

yeah. im in love with the ACT combo. my g is easier to drive now, compared to the OEM set up, mainly because the clutch engagement seems to be more linear, and my car dosnt hang in the revs like it use to with the OEM flywheel
