G35 04 Coupe with 17'' Rims Winter Tires

Hey guys, I got a G35 04 Coupe that came with the stock 17'' rims and I was wondering the same way I've read about the 18'' and 19'' rim stocks being able to run 245 width both in the rear and the front, I was wondering if I could run a 235 front and rear width without encountering problems. I believe its 235/50-17 in the rear and 225-50-17 in the front. I wanted to get winter tires this year because these Kumho all-season's are awesome in dry weather but terrible in the snow/slush here in Jersey so I was wondering if anybody had experience or knowledge about just running 235/50-17 all around?

How wide are your wheels? I am currently running a 245 on the 8" wheel and 255 on an 8.5" wheel with no issues. (oem 19's)

I highly doubt you will have any issues going with a 235.

tbh, I have no idea what the wheel dimensions are for the stock 17''s, I tried google but can't really find them considering the 17'' are not as common as the 18's and 19's these days, but I figure people have put 245's on the front of the 18's and havent mentioned any tire scraping or anything so 235 to match the rear shouldn't be too much of a problem for the 17's, just wanted to verify. I mean the wheel well size hasnt changed so yeah...

I have 225/55/17 on 17" rims for winters.

For a coupe, the ideal combo (close to stock diameters) is 225/50 f and 225/55 r. That's what I've been running on my winter set for 5 years.

any reason you guys upped the sidewall to 55? I've read the articles on tirerack about what all the tire numbers and symbols mean, but if the width is 235 in the rear wouldn't making the sidewall 55 instead of the stock 50 technically make my tachometer read slower due to a "longer" revolution per se?

Okay for the sake of me staying as close to stock as possible for the time being...

Stock Dimensions

225/25.4=8.86''

8.86*0.50=4.43'' Sidewall

235/25.4=9.25''

9.25*0.50=4.625'' Sidewall

Proposed Dimensions:
55 Sidewall Aspect Ratio:

225/25.4=8.86''
8.86*0.55=4.87'' Sidewall

Okay so upping the sidewall on the rear tires seems like a good idea, I'd rather be over than under in terms of tire height. I don't think I'd run 55 on the front though. That would put it almost close to an entire inch extra on the front. Then again I'm probably just over-analyzing and the difference in sidewall height wont make much of a difference.
