2006 G35 stereo

I have a 2006 G35 with a stock "Infinity" stereo, (not Bose) . The sound quality is major sub-par! I want to build a nice system in time, but for now, I need to improve this just a bit. Is there a diagram or some list of values for this stereo floating around here? Is there a way to make it just a Pre-Out low signal, so I can build up something with an external amp, and some nice speakers? I bought this car used, and can't believe that Infiniti passed this sound system as quality. Do I need to put a bose system in temporarily? I still want my wheel controls to work.
BTW, the awesomeness of the car makes up for the bum sound system. In fact, sometimes, I just listen to the engine instead.
Thanks

i don't have bose either man, and i feel your pain. you gotta take your car in for some sounds. if you're running around with extra $$$ then you should look into a double din screen. besides DVDs and iPod stuff, the touch screen decks give you max sound control and awesome bass tweaks. I'll be getting a Pioneer 4200 along with a 12" Kicker L7 and paired amp. still saving tho :/
