Just Bought My G

Hi, I'M 17 and bought an 04 G35 Coupe like a month ago. It had 76k miles when i bought it for 11k. The car is automatic and its completely stock. I wanted to ask which MOD's should i be going for first? Thanks

Your gonna be asked to use the search option as this topic has been discussed numerous times. Anyways to answer your question, it's really up to you as in which mods you want to do first, it all just depends on how deep your pockets are. Most people change all the bulbs in the interior of the car to LEDS and get clear side markers. Next you could consider purchasing an air intake (any of your choice) and a motordyne plenum spacer. Lastly, you could get HFC or testpipes and an exhaust. Hope that helps.

everything
First and foremost..... Lower it. wheel gap looks ugly
then some 19" or 20" wheels/tires
High flow cats, exhaust... stuff like that.
Aftermarket front bumper or sides

Little things that make a big difference are debadging, getting it professionally detailed, tinted windows.

Modding Infinitis isnt cheap by any means. If you dont have enuf money, dont bother doing little piddly mods, save up for bigger worthwhile mods.

I was going to come in here telling you to search but that's already been established.

The first 'mod' you should do first and foremost is get window tint if you don't already have it. After that is all up to you depending if you want to go for performance or appearance.

These engines don't respond too well when it comes to your typical bolt ons. Also, I'm going to emphasis on what G2FLIP4 said, this is NOT a cheap car to mod.

I think with tires it was around $2700. BFGs are hella expensive tires

I disagree that a new exhaust is such a high necessity for these rides. As many have pointed out in other posts switching out exhausts can lead to less then stellar results. Also, piddly mods are not necessarily a bad thing. Doing enough of them can add up to something interesting. Check out the $40 and less mod thread for loads of ideas.

EDIT: I should also point out that its best to decide what route you want to go with the car. Are you looking to race it or just have it cosmetically appealing? Me, I'm not interested in racing so stuff like a plenum spacer while on my list... sits pretty low, where as lighting, wheels, etc. sits higher. Currently I'm doing some lighting changes inside and out and plan on cleaning up and working on the engine compartment next... stuff like a cold air intake Right hand driver battery cover etc can help change up your ride as well.

No picture, I just hate wheel gap. There's no need all cars need 9" of ground clearance. First mod to every vehicle I buy is adjustable coilovers

The exhaust isnt really a necessity even though I stated it. Some do it for performance, some do it for sound, Id do it for a deeper sound.

Personally Id steer clear of most things in that $40 or less thread, but thats me. You do a bunch of them and you could have used that money for a big modification.

To me most of those mods are things people with Civics do. If you're scratching for money to do mods, ie: a $40 list, should you have really bought an Infiniti in the first place.....? More so a car or car payment you can afford would have been a wiser choice, that way you have money to spend on it after the initial vehicle purchase
