Z-tube and JWT Pop Charger in Winter. Bad Idea?
Hi guys,
I am wondering if there would be a negative effect on my engine when running ztube and pop charger combo during winter. It snows a lot and will be damp/freezing all winter long.
Will it build up more condensation and hurt my engine more so than the stock G-tube and stock air box?
Thanks!

No. Ztube = no worries. Pop charger wouldnt get wet to the point where it would freeze and suffocate your car. I ran a CRAB intake in my wheel well on my old car with a KN cone on the top. Never got frozen or even wet being in my wheel well/front passenger bumper.
No problem with the Z-Tube and Pop Charger as long as they're kept dry! You're not leaving your G35 out in the freezing weather are you?
If this is true you should be
from DRIVER! lol

I garage my G every night and I park in a garage at work too. Only thing is they are not heated... My motto is only time your car is "outside" is when i'm driving it. Can't do anything about the temp however..... sigh I should move south? lol

You're going to be fine. Think about it... Why would there be any worry about cold weather with the zTube+pop that you wouldn't have with the stock intake? As far as element exposure, there is virtually no difference.
Garage kept in ATL.

the G is bad enough to sit outside and take it
i live in the same kind of weather as OP and i cant garage my G. My house has a 2 car garage but my mom wont let me park it in there because it causes too much noise in the morning when im leaving. Do you think i should park it in the garage anyway or is it not worth arguing with my parents.

No sense in arguing. Just let your folks know you understand their concern with the noise in the morning, but that you respect your car and want to make sure it stays good condition for a long time. They may actually appreciate your point and change their minds about letting you garage it.
The G sounds glorious anyway. Who wouldn't want to wake up to that sound? lol
Or you could just park it in the garage and say "mom I drive a fkn g35 and you need wake up earlier n make me breakfast".
I left my G out in snow for one winter. Hated it. But if you have to... get pollygaurd/pollyshield applied to you car. Here in Denver it's applied at the car washes. It's More expensive but it's supposed to resist most snow/ice on the paint. They also apply it to the bottom and that resists salt and magchrolide from rusting.
