Anyone with a BS coupe having a problem with paint chips on the front and if so are they that bad? Considering the Clear bra but if i have to pay through the roof to get it done i might not get it and was wondering if the chips on a BS coupe were that bad since the car is so light. Input appreciated.

 

On my black G35, I don't have any chips on the front bumper yet, all of mine are the hood way above where a clear bra would go, and on the rear fender flares ahead of the factory clear protectors.

 

Really, how far up on the hood cause the Clear Bra covers part of the hood maybe 6-12" or so.

 

And Bigel how far up are the chips?

 

My clear bra covers the ENTIRE hood.. (gotta love those custom installs.... 'course the price is something I'd rather not remember..

 

I finally got a day off to get a clear bra installed but as I was washing my car today, I noticed several small paint chips on the lower bumper. If I get the bra installed, would these become like a noticeable dimple over the film?

 

Some are lower, but some are pretty high. Most of ythe clear bras I have seen basically cover the nose and headlight area.

 

I had a couple of small chips before installed the clear bra. No dimples or divots, but can see the chips through the bra. Oh well, should have done it sooner. Next car, no hesitation!

Hooter I'm in almost the same situation. I just got off the phone with our local installer and I'm thinking I might just touch up my chips before I put the bra on. Mine all appear to be on my hood too (black coupe).

I know firsthand the issue with paint chips on the BS coupe. If you read my previous thread at: (https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=) you would know that I had to deal with this very issue. I have recently got the chips repaired with touch-up paint by the body shop, but it still makes me sick that it happened to my car. As a result, regardless of price, I am getting the clear bra installed immediately. The body shop even discovered that had a small chip on the hood....this just won't do! In addition, bugs are getting in on the act too! The little bastards are hitting my front bumper like crazy....making it difficult to keep clean. Yes I am sure I'll go in debt, but it seems to me that the clear bra is the only solution right now. My $.02.

 

The primer under the BS paint is black (not grey), which makes chips even more visible. Glad I had my clear bra put on early.
