Yes I've driven them, I know it's not gonna be anything like a muscle car, but that's just it, I didn't find much joy in being able to haul *** from a stop light. I just want something that's going to be comfortable, kick *** looking (which the G is for sure!), and speedy enough to whip around and have fun on the highway or some Texas hill country

I didn't mean 280whp, I was talking engine. But if I could even get it anywhere in the 250whp region I would be psyched. And if I can get even 20-25 average mpg, then I'll also be psyched.

If that's what you're looking for, then you'll love the G. I think it's a very well balanced car. I get about 18/24 mpg on average. And that's with all my mods.

That sort of mileage is fine by me, my truck averages 14, lol. The mods are why I want to get an '04, the older year I get, the cheaper it is, and the more money I have left over to mod. I REALLY wanna do a catback exhaust and a little weight reduction - primarily swap the battery, remove the spare tire, and swap those power/heated hulk front seats for some Sparco Milano Prestige front seats so they match up with the leather

Another thing to consider...

If you're wanting to upgrade the stereo system be aware it can be a pain in the ***. You'll need a Metra or JDM dash retrofit that will cause issues with the dual zone climate control in order to have a standard double-din opening to put a new stereo in.

Budget $200-$400 for this mod depending on how much of a headache you want afterwards.

Don't buy the G because you want to go fast...unless you plan to throw ridiculous amounts of money at it. Buy it because you're mature enough to appreciate the understated elegance - and you've outgrown the need to race every GM f-body you meet at a stoplight or on the interstate.

I average 22-23 m.p.g. on a stock-engined '04 G.

Welcome to the forum. There's a lot of information here for you in the posts stuck to the top of the page, and through the search function.

my 06 dyno'd at 246whp on a mustang dyno stock. i would look more at the rev-up motor if your wanting more power out-of-the-box you can find them for a decent price too... but like people stated oil consumption is a concern.

Dont waist a dime on the Turbonetics kit as its crap.If your looking for only a single....look at boosted performance or the powerlab kit.

i have an 04 with 90k miles and i have to say that i love my car from the exterior but the interior really bugs me. im trying to sell mine so i can get a newer year g cuz they really nice job with the interior in the 05+ models. also if u want a Double Din screen, its going to cost u over 600 for a decent one, the stock bose speakers do a good job, but u will want to add some bass to it. as for engine problems, studies show that the 04 have been the most reliable, and i can tell u from experience that i believe that is true. the car u are looking at is in pretty decent condition but i would still get it checked out at a local infiniti dealership, and u will most likely have to change the window motors. i would try to go atleast $1k lower on the asking price, but the rims are a +. also ask and see if they have the stock rims, which always come in handy. if u really want to experience good gains and mileage u should look into getting a uprev tuner after u get ur intake, spacer, exhaust. those things are designed to get the best gains out of ur simple mods and have a feature that will let u have upto 30mpg on the highway, of course power will be limited but thats where ur cruise controls come into play. its like $600 but its worth it

When I say I want it fast, I don't mean it in that immature way, or racecar fast, I just want it to have enough get up and go to enjoy my daily drive. And like I said, I'm sure the stock motor will give that to me. I appreciate the car for what it is - to me it's a nice middle of the road blend of quickness, halfway decent fuel mileage, and great looks.

The stereo is still up in the air, from what I know, Nissans have awesome sound systems in them as is, my girlfriend's '06 Altima (not even the luxury version) has an awesome sound system in it! So I will probably keep the stock stereo, now knowing all the hassle involved with the fascia around it.

Another question, are there any major issues with removing the front seats for a set of Sparcos? Other than the fact that the heat control on the dash is going to become a dud...

The only thing that sucks about the car is it's 240 miles away from me :/ I was gonna make the trip to pick it up as soon as I sell my truck. Any ideas on how I can get it for sure checked out without being there? Lol.

no issues at all. if you get the seat rails its an easy bolt it procedure.

we did my friends car in about an hour and a half for both.

This might be a dumb question, but on their website it says $1699 for the Milano Prestige. Is that for both seats? Or just one. I was confused because it says "seats."

also if your obsessing over weight your should consider a sedan. They are lighter and offer more space. Plus I think they can look really nice.

I'm not obsessed over it, I don't even have a goal weight in mind. But every vehicle I ever get, the first thing I do on it is say "what is on this vehicle that I don't care about, that could go away?"

I prefer the coupe, thats what attracted me to the idea of buying a G35 to begin with. Otherwise I was gonna go with a WRX or something.
