hey guys i need your opinions i have legal tint on my LR coupe and its starting to peel :S sooo im going to re-tint with something darker and the same % all around. im in FL so the sun kills and cops arnt too picky about tint in my area so thats not a problem... i had my mind set on 10% all around except for the front windshield, so i was wondering does any1 else have this on their coupe?? have you had any problems (other than police warnings) im installing my blu bat overlays at the same time (roof overlay, headlights, taillights etc.) so im thinking it will look nice...

 

Your not gonna get a specific answer. If a cop is having a bad day will can give u a ticket for being a couple %points under the law.

if your not riding around with anything illegal i wouldn't worry to much about it.

 

IMO, 10% is not over the top...I have my 45 blacked out (limo all around) and a light glaze on the windshield...i love it.

However, my 35 has stock tint - bought it like that and never changed it.

The privacy in my 45 is awesome...the only down fall is that i feel obligated to roll my front windows down when i see a cop coming close...all in all...limo is worth it though...

 

Do it. My friend slapped on double 7% tints and it looked pretty sick haha ! Go big or go home. :] i heard fl cops are more chill about tints anyways..

 

I had 5 in the front and pretty much 0 in the back ( the dude at the tint place didnt bother taking off my old tint) and I never had any problems with cops... until this one time.. lol!

 

I have 8% and have to roll down the windows when I drive by the PoPo

 

I have 15% all around and its pretty good but wish I would have went a little darker. 10% should be perfect.

I know my buddie has limo tint all around his 350z and he has never had a problem with cops. He's been driving it like that for 4-5 years.

 

I have 20% tint but when I get it inspected the tint reader shows 10%.
So 10% is not over the top, just have them down during the daytime or near cops.
And have them up when your at night

 

Man you guys are lucky, in California the law is no tint in the Front is legal.. And they say you can have 30% and STILL get pulled over. I gots me 35%s all around.. My cousin and friend just got 20% on their TL-S and IS350, looks so mean. I want 20%s lol.

I have 5% all around on my G, and I live in Cali where front window tints are illegal regardless of %.

1 "non correctable" tint ticket: $170
A sexy looking car: priceless

My tints are, IMO, worth all the tickets and hassle I get from the cops. If they weren't, I'd take them off. Gotta pay to play.

 

You have 5% on your windshield? I sort of hope you hit someone in a cross walk.

 

found out i have 4%. fla tint ticket was $114 he was a trooper on I-4 east of NSB

yeah 5% on the windshield is stupid if he is serious but so are you for saying you sort of hope he hits someone in a crosswalk....that could be one of your family members.

 

I'm glad I have no family in San Jose then, huh? lol
