Clear Bra Opinions

Hey guys. I only have 1035 miles on my G, and I already notice some scratches and chips on my front bumper. I have yet to see a clear bra in person, so I don't know what to expect from it. It seems like a good idea: the protection of a bra without the ugliness of leather. I want to know if you guys think it looks bad. I am sure you can tell if somebody has a clear bra installed, but i really don't want to get the front of my car all scratched up, being as my car is CB, and it would be really obvious. I need your guys' opinions on the clear bra and if it's worth the money.

Thanks

Re: Clear Bra Opinions

in my opinion its worth it if you can find a good deal $500 or less for: full bumper, headlight, and at least some of the hood protected, and back of the side mirrors....
its not noticable unless you are within 5 feet, to the amatuer eye im sure its more like 2 feet away from the car.....

Its especially worth it if you do lots of highway driving, because thats where you will get the most chips

Rambo, why headlights? Can you even notice chips in headlights?

Sorry to butt in RR... It's cheaper insurance than your deductible to replace a cracked headlight cover and the material protects them from scratches that reduce effectiveness of the lights and mar the appearance. The bra's appearance is nearly transparent. No touch up paint is ever required on the protected surfaces and I've found no reason to treat it any different than the unprotected areas as far as washing and waxing. So it's low/no maintenance. Now if we could only protect ourselves from the door dings !! ...dean

Re: Clear Bra Opinions

I have complete bumper and hood coverage on my CB. It is virtually impossible to notice the bra on my car. Do not get a kit. Get a custom install with wrapped edges. Here is a similar thread and some pics of my car...
