hey guys. just got an 03 g35 coupe 5AT with low miles. its very clean inside and out, bone stock black. but i do have a coupla concerns and questions.

first off, my right headlight seems to be out of place and loose. driving at high speeds creates an annoying noise. it seems that the bottom screws are either broken or out place. any of you experience anything like this? any tips on fixing this without removing the front bumper?

second, the driverside heated seat light does not work. when switching up or down the little led does not light up. i also noticed the heated seats take a while to warm up. and they're not too warm. how do yours perform? similar results?

third my power door locks seem screwy. they work. but not consistently. either one door opens or the other one doesn't. or both open then right after neither open. any input on that?

and lastly the navigation maps seem outdated. whats a good website to buy the new maps from? dealer is 250 but thats way too steep.

make sure your car wasnt wrecked. there is only one mounting tab you can see, the others are covered by the bumper....im guessing the tabs are broken for whatever reason, hopefully loose.
make sure your fuses are good, if the switch isnt lighting up then either the circuit before the switch is messed up or the switch itself is. try swapping the 2 and see if it works. and yes, they will take a few minutes to get warmed up normally.
and these cars are bad for door lock actuators, go ahead and buy new ones.
lastly, get an update cd lol

 

the car has a very clean history. driven by a 62 year old woman im the second owner. so no accidents. how much do door lock actuators cost? and is it worth getting the update cd? or is it basically same thing?

 

One of the guys on here sells the fixes for the door locks. Just do a search on them and the thread will pop up.

Cd look in the marketplace someone had one for sale not to long ago. Or try a torrent download and try and burn a disc.

 

new they are like $300. some cars even with a clean history wont show of any accidents if they didnt go through insurance. just double check around that area for any cracks or breaks.

 

damn thats steep. i couldnt find any good DIY for the door locks. any links?


what do you guys think about this DIY? the guy uses 5 dollar actuators that seem to work well.

you need replace the headlamp because it has broken bracket.
for the seat heater, you might want to check if the connector is lose. you can swap the wire of right and left and see if it functions properly.
power door lock is a common issue, you can get a kit from pytonjosh here.
about your map, i have no idea but maybe you can try bit torrent or ebay
