Engine noises after 2,900 rpm.

Hey guys. i own a 2004 g35 coupe AT. i bought it with around 60K miles, and now up to just below 96K. Yeah, gettin' up there, i know. Anyway, about a year after purchasing the car (early 2007), i started to notice a screeching sound (metal abrasion/rubbing sound) at around 2,900 - 3,100 rpm under hard acceleration, then proceeds to disappear until another hard acceleration. Any thoughts from our tech guys?

p.s. i am going to try to get an audio/video sample for you soon.

ALSO: what is this ''woosh'' sound, (not consistent intervals in between noises/vibarations), around 55-65mph?? Wheel Bearings worn?

Thanks guys, I do appreciate all your ideas.

I'm not sure if you have the same problem with my friend's car, but last month we figure out that his brake pad wear indicator made contact with the brake rotor. "The brake pad wear indicator is a metal tab attached to the brake pad. When enough of the friction material is worn away, the wear indicator will contact the rotor and make a squealing sound."-got this from auto repair. We often hear this squealing sound when he accelerates, and the sound gets louder when he accelerates more.

Forgot to say that he did a front disc brake job. It fixed his problem.
