Re: why no brembos in 05?

there were too many problems with them that brembo wasnt addressing iirc.

this makes some sense, but i think that if infiniti used a 4/2 piston setup w/ yellow or red calipers and drilled rotors on the 05, no one would complain.

Also because they were getting customers complaining of squeeks, excessive brake dust, wear, expensive to replace
pads...from wat my dealer told me.

Which really don't bother me.

Baloney, there were no problems with Brembos. They are still used on the 2005 Z Track. Its all about cost and profit.

The brembos are overkill, in other words, not cost effective.

Re: why no brembos in 05?

I thought that the Brembos were actually lasting longer than the standard brakes! I do believe that this was a cost cutting effort. I have the 2003 6MT model and I am glad that I have them. I have never had any issues with them (a little squeaking when I first got them, but that went away quickly). Currently have 16,000 miles on my G and no where near replacing them. I heard that some people have had to replace the standard brakes at 15k...

It's so the price of the car stays about the same with all the other improvements which were made. Things like the real aluminum on the console, telescoping steering wheel, etc. cost more and to keep the price about the same as before they got rid of the Brembos.

Re: why no brembos in 05?

The brembo brakes are more reliable than the regular OEM brakes. Look at all the recent litigation about the Infiniti factory non-Brembo brakes. The reason for the cut in the Brembo brakes is because of the cost of the added features that the 2005 has. They needed to eliminate the Brembos in order to keep the sales price range within a reasonable range.
