New to the site, new G owner.

I just bought my first g35 the other day and couldn't be happier. Its a 06 white g35 coupe 6-speed manual (45,000mi). I have a few random questions.

If you're just cruising around town, where do you shift for optimal gas mileage?

How much should i expect to pay for window tinting? Can anyone recommend someone in the Orlando, FL area?

I'm assuming the "REV" light is the red bars that show up when you should shift. Is there anyway to take that off or raise it to a higher rev? I cant find this anywhere in the owners manual.

Thank you in advance for your help.

DOOEET, if you're concerned about gas mileage you should have bought one of the plug in vehicles! Our G35s don't get great gas mileage. You can't find a way in the owners manual to move the red line because it's there for a reason....this coming from a guy that's concerned about gas mileage?

I had the same problem when i first got my 6MT. the red bar would blink at 4k Rpm's. it tells you how to change it in the manual. you gotta hold down the black stick that comes out of the cluster until it shows the rpms then u push it in once per every one hundred to where you want it.

I have an 06 6mt with 45k as well. I get almost exactly 21mpg every tank. I have my shift light set at 4k so it starts blinking at 3500 n then turns solid red at 4k. I normally shift about 3200 rpms.

I got my car tinted for $180.

the "REV" in the middle of the dash means you have the Rev-up model. Slightly higher horsepower, slightly lower torque than the standard model. You can not get rid of the "REV" lettering in your gauge cluster. You can get rid of the red shift light that comes on. You have to press the odometer button on teh gauge cluster 2x i think and then it shows you what rpm its set at...then you choose the rpm you want it. If you set it at 8000rpm or somethin like that it wont blink til redline. search the forum for how to change the factory shift light settings.

he was talking about the red light, not red line.

you can change the red light indicator by pressing the odometer button until you get passed A and B mileage and there's going to be numbers in thousands. whatever number it's at....let's say 5000, at 5000 rpm that's where the red light will flash. to change it you just hold the button until it flashes then you just press it until whatever number you want the red light to flash. if you want to turn the feature off you just set it at 8000.
