The HVAC display (thing with compass in it) needed to come out just to drill a hole to install the IR reciever for the remote under it. You can see what is involved with the install by downloading the install instructions here: http://www.digitalwheelz.com/G35Scre...tallation.html The install is as involved as the double DIN conversion and takes around 3 hours. The screens and housings come fully assembled It is pretty much a bold on installation, you have to cut a few non-structural parts for it to fit, but nothing that would prevent you from restoring your G to stock condition if you need to if your lease is up or something like that.

Heres a video of the screen moving to give you an idea of how it works: http://www.digitalwheelz.com/digitalwheelz.wmv

If you just want to play DVDs or anything with RCA outputs, you need just the 700V model. The other models (700YV, 700TSV) are just for computers.

The screens are still in limited production yet so there will be a 1-2 week wait after you place an order. I should hopefully be in full production by the end of November. The screens can be purchased now here: http://www.digitalwheelz.com/ecommer...alog/index.php

I should also have a single DIN converter for the upper glovebox ready for sale by the end of this month that will allow you to put a DVD player (< 7" deep) in the upper glovebox and make for a complete bolt on installation of your video device in a non-NAV G35.

Any of your other questions are probably answered in the FAQ here: http://www.digitalwheelz.com/G35ScreenHousing_FAQ.html you can also send an e-mail to admin@digitalwheelz.com and will usually get an answer within a few hours.

rcdash, I agree with you all the way a carputer is the way to go and is what I use the screen in my car for. The screen the digitalwheelz screen housing is based off of is a 7" xenarc which is the best 7" VGA screen available. Theres so many things you can do with a carputer that you just can't get in anything else. i.e. complete customizability I've use mine to tap into my steering wheel controls, record XM radio while I'm on the road, use the touch screen for gestures, get 0-60 times from OBD II, etc. All for a fraction of the price of other options. I will have a complete carputer product available for sale in 2005 once I finish the software.

Pratik, thanks for posting the pics!

Both, if you want to be able to play DVDs, you would have to buy a screen from me, then a DVD player to connect to it.

the upper glovebox is your best bet. God_of_CPU has a glovebox fitment coming out but it will restrict you in certain sizes because that glovebox is really small. I found an Innovatek DVD/MP3/TV player that seems to get the job done. The quality looks good to me but haven't hooked up the tv antenna yet to see how that'll look.

That looks great, what kind of inputs can you plug into the LCD screen. I might consider getting one so I can put my xbox in the G.
