Car hit 103k a few days ago. My buddy ran his OBD and error P0456 came up.. I reset ecu prior and the code came up again...obviously this is a (Evaporative Emissions System - Small leak detected). It says it could be the gas cap not being tight enough, which I have read a million threads on. It may not be the gas cap but it is a place to start, and I did remember filling up a while ago with the car running, but then I shut it off once I realized my idiocracy. My question is, which gas cap is the OEM one, Gates or Stant..

^^^ that is the website I was going to order from, I want to ensure I purchase the correct locking one that is OEM, but am not positive on which is which. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! Thanks so much..^^^

 

whats the production date of your car.

 

On the inside of the drivers door it says date: 09/02

 

the second one from the top shows that its for cars made from aug 2002 and up

 

oem is nissan. not stant or gates. lol has your car had the fuel hose recall done (if vin applies)??

 

I don't think it has been done..I went to Infiniti and got the fuel cap...is there a way to check if the fuel hose recall has been done and does it matter that my car is over 100k for that recall?

 

^Mileage is of no concern when somethig is recalled. Call a dealer and see if your car requires the recall.
