Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I know they are some great minds here.
My g35 6mt coupe got hit from behind, after the accident there was a rattle coming from the engine, I found that a broken piece of the lower part of the (drivers side) fan shroud was protruding and rubbing the fan so when the fan turned on it made this rattling sound.
My question is: can the impact in the rear cause the fan shroud to crack?
From my understanding when a car is hit the force of the impact is transferred to the chasis. If the shroud is bolted there is a good chance it could break.
The bodyshop or autoshop says it couldn't be caused by the accident.
What do you guys think? Can I get any good supported opinions on this?
