If you both have G Coupes then you guys can just do a straight swap of all the parts.

You won't need to buy any bolts or trim anything. Use his heat shield, his calipers, his rotors, and his rear mounting bolts on his car and put all of the equivalent from your car onto his.

Boom. Done.

Is that all that is needed? no brake lines or computer stuff?
just the calipers, rotors and bolts to make it work like it should?

No computer stuff...brakes are hydraulic, not electronic. All the ABS and other stuff is completely isolated from the calipers. The calipers don't have any electronics in them at all.

Brake lines should be the same for both cars. Even if you did need to change them it wouldn't make much of a difference.

Just make sure you bleed the brakes on both cars when done. And do a good job on both cars...don't do a shotty job on your friends car cause it's getting repossessed, as this will just put someone's life in danger.

what if you dont have the rear mounting bolts and are buying calipers lines and rotors ? is there a place that would see the bolts or a mounting kit for the cars that didnt come with them . im facing the same thing here soon.

you can pick the bolts up at your local Nissan dealership @ the parts department or online

just set up both cars next to each other, transfer all parts as needed. You will need to swap the brake piping as well. Replacing the heat shields will require removal of the parking brake and wheel bearings.

Reguardless of what they're doing, the guy is going to still owe the balance of the car. You don't get repo'ed and walk away from it... the impact on your credit, the fact the bank could file suit on him, and some states will garnish his wages.. so if the guy wants to devalue the car so it auctions off for less, it's him that will pay in the end.

He'd have been better off trying to sell the car himself... even if it was less than his payoff, he'd have less of a balance to payoff the finance company.

to stay on topic, please post some pictures of the swap if you complete it, I've got an 05 also and would love to see the finished product

One thing no one has mentioned here is that the brake master cylinder and brake booster are both different on Brembo-equipped cars. No one swaps those, I'm guessing, but they should.

last time I did the swap to an '03 sedan and I confirmed with the dealer that those parts were the same.

Its still not defrauding the bank.. maybe its questionable but fraud? no. If that was the case they would be charging him with a count of fraud for every chip in the paint.

Swap! Swap!

The dealer is wrong, at least according to the FSM.

OPB27VA/OPB13VB = Brembo
CLZ25VD/AD14VE = standard brakes

Brembo brakes will fit on the )5+ models just swap all the hardwaree from the car. You will need the calipers, rotors, pads, lines and the brackets. Take them off from with the line after the bracket and your good to go. Also if you can get the brake master cylinder that would be good. Make sure to bleed your brakes and you are good to go!
