Tire Pressure Icon Flashing?

I was driving back to Austin at night and there was something on the road (rolled up blown tire?) which I accidentally hit on the freeway. At first, everything seemed ok, but after 5-10mins, my low tire pressure icon started flashing for about 3 secs and I immediately pulled over. As soon as I hit the hazard button, the icon stopped flashing, but I still checked my tires anyways. After driving another 50 mins I think my tires are ok because the icon never came back on, but to be on the safe side, has this happened to anyone before and what does it mean?

Please only start one thread pertaining to a particular topic.

OTOH it sounds like it was a momentary issue if the light hasn't come back on so you should be good.

Easy explanation, since you hit something it temporally disrupted the signal between that tires TPS and your vehicle. With that kinda jolt you need to check your tires closely, there's a possibility you did some damaged.

+1, Id look during the daylight to make sure you dont have a hole or tear in the tire.

+2 to what Gary said. TPMS will stay on if you are anywhere below -3psi of what it should be at. Sounds look you may have shocked the TPMS a lil bit with whatever you hit. double check underneath the car for any damage and you should be good to go otherwise.
