Sure does....you gain a lot of leverage in the bargaining process when the salesman knows you are ready to pay for the car then and there. Show em the money, then say you gonna walk out when you don't like the deal....and see em meet you in the parking asking you to come back.....sweet position to be in nontheless...

Agreed. Tell them you are ready to pay in full up front. But don't jerk around asking too many questions about the car, assuming it is what you want. When you're ready to buy, go in there and BE ready to buy. If they're just not giving in to a price you want, just take a walk out. If they still don't give in on your way out, they might say "Hey here's my business card, give me a call if you change your mind". Just say "No thanks, I don't think I'll be needing it" and then they will give in, or they'll call you the next day with the price that you want.
It's all about the strategy.
