Curbage... ><

I somewhat drove over a curb today... I'm gonna go ahead and blame this to the misleading pavement. Any way to just spray this portion with some paint or do I have to do the entire rim again? Also, can I somehow do it with the rim still on the car? (maybe mask everything BUT that small area?)

Almost crapped when I saw this...

After wiping it down with water, it didn't look THAT bad; could've been worse.

I wonder if some black sharpie would fix this..

Try the black sharpie, just beware, it WILL look purple on there. if you don't like it, take some carb cleaner or a rag with a bit of nail polish remover or gasoline on it to remove the sharpie. I say just spray paint it and mask the entire area. That's how I would do it.

You need them powder coated. Spray paint looks no good.

You could try sanding down the scuff and repainting that area black then the red stripe. You've got nothing to lose at this point, if you not satisfied with the results take it to a wheel repair shop and have it done right. Cost is usually between $75/$100 done right.... Gotta love curbs!

i would sand it and spray it. Since you will have a glue-on red stripe covering most of the damage it should look fine.

If you powdercoat that one you would have to do all 4 so they match.

haha, OP just get plasti-dip and spray that section, better than a sharpie.
Also, when you have the time and money to repair it, you can just peel it off

damn that sucks...the matching LR lip on OEM wheels looks pretty sweet though (before the damage obviously) it looks like they did a great job...and since I love things that are well done I personally would have taken that to a wheel repair place within 5 minutes of it happening.

With a car that looks that nice, you cant afford to have imperfections. Fix it!

What about gloss black nail polish? It would be a small area since the TA stripe will cover the majority of curbage..

Yeah I wanted to see how they would look before I coughed up some $$ for PC. It was my first time painting anything

I may do the nail polish thing, if that doesn't work; the sand/repaint, if that doesn't work; go crazy and just get them PCed.

I don't know how long I could deny it though..
Guy: what happened to your rims man?
Me: what are you talking about? I don't see anything wrong with em.

The entire rim is plasti dipped lol. Plasti dipped, painted, then clear coated.

Sand it down and paint it. If you just paint over that you will see the contour of the scratch, which i'm sure you already know. Just spend the time and make it look good.
