just install the z tube and keep the rest stock. stock intake plus z tube is the best way imo

Yea I've already installed the stillen z tube and jwt pop charger... Just wanted to make sure I'm not hurting my engine or messing anything else up by not having the front air duct installed to the heat shield. Thanks

You should have Sean do his custom intake duct install on your car. Then you won't have to worry about not enough air going into your intake .

Forget the popcharger.. just get a revup box and stick with the z-tube and get Sean's job done on your car. That'll give you a better performance boost than like ALL the avaible aftermarket instakes out there for your car.

Sean who? Sorry if that's a stupid question lol but I don't know who this is. Does he have a website that sells these or something?

Oh oops. Didn't realize that you live far away from CA lol.

Sean's a sponsor on this site. Don't think he'd be able to do the intake job for you though because of distance lol.

My idle seems to be slightly bumpy after my z tube and pop charger install. Is this normal? It's not enough to register on the tach and is idleing at the correct rpms. Should I be worried? I checked all connections and they are tight.

Ur ECU probably has to adapt to the install... if it doesn't smooth out after some time try disconnecting ur battery for a few hours

If you can find one of those tubes, get it. It will allow you to pull colder air from outside the engine bay.

Did you reset the ECU?
To fix, unplug the battery, press the brakes a few times, and leave it overnight.

Did you touch your throttle body?
Search for Idle Position Reset

Yes, I actually just did the ecu reset and the bumpiness continued after restarting the car. It's not extremely noticeable but when I'm sitting in my car with no radio on or noise, I can hear that its slightly bumpy. I will search for the idle position reset and do this tonight. Hope it helps. I'll re-post when it's completed. Thanks for your help!

Ok, so the idle position reset didn't help anything. Any other ideas? Has anyone else experienced this "slight bumpiness" in their idle after installing a z tube/ pop charger? I'm probably just being a little paranoid but I am all about preventative maintenance!

Sorry that didn't help. I've heard the accelerator pedal position and throttle body idle position resets are very tough to get to work. First things first I would try these again after another ECU reset and listen for a change in idle just to make sure it worked.

I just installed mrev2, 5/16 copper iso spacer, and ztube. I kept stock airbox. Definitely make sure you have the rubber hose reconnected to the intake, and there are no kinks in it. Turn on the car and listen to it run from the engine bay with the hood up. Try to listen for hissing or whooshing. This will tell you if you are leaking air/vacuum

During the install of my parts, I also cleaned my throttle body. I did not touch it, just totally disconnected it from the plenum and used a spray can of throttle body cleaner, search for "clean your throttle bodies" and try that. I disconnected it entirely after unplugging the battery. Don't touch the valve at all, just spray the crap out of it with tb cleaner.

I'd hate to make you do all that work, but it really sounds like your tb or ecu is not getting the new settings, and if you don't have any leaks, the TB could be dirty. My ztube was VERY dirty when I got it, so I cleaned it. If you didn't clean yours, that could be part of the problem.

Yea ill give it another shot this weekend. If it doesn't work, I'll do the TB cleaning since that's pretty easy and cheap. If none of those things work I might just put my stock air box back in and see if that solves the issue. My z tube was brand new so it was very clean inside before install. I mean, its probably so insignificant that no one else would notice it but me. lol Im very aware of my car and the noises it makes though.
