Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

Amusing thread but it's not really a good comparison. The M3 is in a totally different class. It is all-around a better car but the G is definitely a better value.

One area I think the G wins in aside from value and reliability is styling, but that's subjective.

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

The G coupe has a unique style to it, unlike the M3 that the styling looks like a beefed up 330ci. Don't get me wrong I like M3s but better looking, ya right!

hmmm.... they seem to think that anyone dissing M3s can't afford one....

oh well, it's their forum.... and if they wanna think "it's got to be a Bimmer or it's not good..." that's their business....

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

BMW owners are usually biased (but not all). The reason I didn't buy a M3 is that you can't really mod them (engine) and if you do they'll likely break down or cost you a lot in the end to maintain them. They can't handle mods reliably like Japanese cars can, take the Nissan Skyline or the Toyota Supra TT, they both can handle enormous amounts of HP with out changing pistons, blocks, and cams. I still like the M3 for it's smooth 333hp NA engine and the SMG tranny but that's it.

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

interesting... I've found that for the most part all the owners on this board love the G35... but they're willing to admit when it's outclassed, outpriced, yaddiyaddeya...

there is no perfect car!!! there is no ultimate car... just the one I love, a black on black 6MT g35C.

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

that post was so funny. Thank you for people like Angele, she put a nice open opinion in there.

They contridict themself in there. One guy says he never would compare a 911 to a m3 cause it's two different kinds of cars. Hmmm? And why compare the G35coupe with the M3? I know infiniti went after the 330ci, but is the 330ci at the same level as the m3? It's just funny that they even brought up the g35coupe on their forum. I smell FEAR!!

BMW m3 owners are scared of a moded turbo charged G35 pulling up behind them at the light. then they try to pull away only to find the G35 leaving them standing still. They are also scared of what is to come in the Infiniti product line. they might have a HP advantage over us now, but it's not much. Plus where was M3 all these years with 800hp+ GT-R's.

on the 2nd post some guy posted "Nor do they have an in-house Mod unit, as far as I know (ie: BMW has M Motorsport, Toyota has TRD, Ford has SVT, etc..). "

BWAHAHA the guy is just lost talking about things he hasn't researched. it's called NISMO

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

Someone a couple of posts after that mentioned NISMO. Also, regarding the M3 handling mods.. that think breaks down even on stock form. And someone mentioned that it would take the GT-R to be a threat to the M3, but that it won't come over, and neither will a real Lancer EVO or WRX STi. Umm... we've got 2, the 3rd should be following any time now.

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

I think that guy was like wrong there is no like threat to the M3. Look at the Lancer Evo or Wrx STI one slight mod it can kill the M3 in performance and handeling. Then we have that Audi RS4 that comming out with a twin turbo system.

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

Well BMW is aware that the bar has been raised, so they are coming out with the BMW M4 which will be V8 powered and be a two seater. But the bad news is that it won't be here until 2005 or 2006!

Re: M3 VS G35 Thread

I've also heard they're going to be bringing out a 1-series, and possibly an M1. Should be interesting.

Oh God, please tell me it won't look like that image you posted... That is (IMO) the ugliest BMW concept I've seen in a long time...
