wow, special way? wash it like its your baby. my paint is fine and i've been washing it like anyone else should be washing their car. rinse, soap, rinse again, dry. don't soap with micro fiber stuff, at least i've heard. i have a highly absorbent sponge that i bought at target or of the sort. car wash liquid i use meguiar's, i tend to avoid amour all for everything except like, tire shine or something.
to dry i use something called the absorber, bought from target, about 10 bucks, very worth it.
oh yea, one thing. when washing doors, there's a trim piece at the bottom of the door that can get caught on whatever you're washing your car with, therefore tearing the trim piece, and it looks kinda ugly afterwards lol. i did that once, luckily i still had warranty then and got it fixed for freeeeeee.

I wouldn't recommend one of those things for anything nicer than a civic. They are just dirt trapping micro scratching machines.

^ Exactly. I have three of those waffle weave drying towels from detailed image (awesome site) and I love them. I'd also stay away from sponges, as they're likely to trap dirt inside all those holes.
OP, use a microfiber or sheepskin mitt. I use a sheepskin myself, with Meguires gold class car wash soap. You could also use the two-bucket method for washing. Don't use too much pressure when you're rinsing, or you'll push dirt particles into the clear. When you rinse off the soap, just hold the hose over the panels and just let the water flow out, it'll cause the water to sheet off, making it a lot easier to dry since most of the water will be gone. Oh, and try not washing directly in the sun, or the soap and water will dry up.

^^Great choice of products. I love ONR and am a big fan of Zaino as well. If you haven't tried the Z10 (leather in a bottle) or the Z8 detail spray give them a shot. You'll love both.
OP make sure you buy a soap designed for car finishes. Using a detergent like Dawn will strip any wax or protectant you might have right off the car and that's not good.
