So I have had a horrible squeal under my hood for some time. First thought it was a belt, replaced those. Then I suspected a pulley, checked all and came to the power steering pulley. i took of the ps belt, and could tell there was a slight play in the mechanism of the power steering pump.

Anyone have this problem before?

did you figure out if the power steering pump was the cause? I noticed mine moves a little when there is no belt attached and think its the cause of some chirping i hear.

 

Mine turned out to be dirty pulleys. Removed belts cleaned pullies new belts on. Tighten belts.
