help! ings fiberglass replica sides fitment issue
i just picked up a set of replica ings +1 side skirts
i removed the drivers side stock skirt to do a test fit of the
ings before going for paint
i read up on them before i bought them and allot of guys were talking about
the issues of self tapping and using stock body holes then painting over to try and make a flush look,
this is the least of my worries i think right now the bigger issue is
it seems there is no way they are going to fit,
there is a half inch gap between the original mounting under the door
and the sill plate. and also the front and back sections of the skirt are not flush with the body
if i can get them to look flush like everyone elses replicas, im sending them , my hood
and bumper out for paint next week.
ny ideas on how to get them to work, or how you did... i can provide pics if anyone wants to see,

tian, i wish my side skirts as nice as yours do. you even have pre drilled holes lol.
i will go take a few pics right now. i will most likely have to sell them and go with
another style or same style but just a better replica
i live in ontario canada, i picked them up in a place in toronto , i dident want to pay
customs on such a big item off e bay for a better set but i would have been better off it seems,

Yea and theres huge gaps everywhere not sure who made them they just came in plastic wrap, does any one know of a place to get fairly priced replicas that you have installed your self and they fit nice, looking for a place in Canada if not any in the states?
i wouldnt worry about it. mine is the same way but mine is poly. doesnt seem to affect the fitment. i kinda prefer it that way gives it more flexibility when i scrape. plus the door keeps it in place anyway. for the back and front fitment that should be easy to fix jus shave it down to get it flush.
I had the same problem. It was bad. Real BAD!!!!! I am glad to know a awesome body guy in Marietta GA. Now, everyone says there body guy is good but my guy, GOOD!!! Price? Lower then low!! You need to find a good body guy/shop. One that takes pride in street cars!
here are the updated pics,
they still have to go get painted along with other things,
they seem to fit ok, i dont like how it looks when you open up the door, im going to urethane that edge on, and hopefully find some better looking screws,
i took them back to where i bought them, and payed to get them installed.

that actually looks really good fitment for FG ings
as long as you paint over the screw heads, or replace them with some brushed aluminum or something decorative, you will be fine.
