Hi Guys,

I have an '05 OEM Navi, and was wondering if its possible to swap out just the DVD Unit so I can get all the improved features offered in the '06 version. Is this possible and is it just a matter of plug and play?

Sorry if this has been posted before. I searched but did not find anything. Thanks for the feedback.

 

I was also wondering this, the 05 navigation interface looks like it was created by using Windows 95 MS Paint.

 

pretty sure you need to swap more than just the DVD-ROM drive. I've looked into it too and iirc most of the connectors changed. Plus sourcing a 06 sedan/06-07 coupe navi system is tough since not too many were sold with the navigation. The 06 system is arguably 'nicer', but still not worth the troubles imo. Most just go the double din route since you get touch screen and much more.
