Blown Motor... Suggestions?

So I blew the motor in my 03 coupe w/130K miles three months ago. I've been doing ton's of research on potential "swaps". Each has their perks. Im interested in the LSx, the 2JZ,and VK56. It seems to me each of these swaps would end up costing 15K or more once its all said and done? Really my budget is more around 4-7k. Should I just find another vq and start buildin for FI? I'm lost withought my g, and miss itt!! Needa get it up and runnin. What are yall's suggestions?

$7k...no way you can do a swap to an LSx.

Just get your's rebuilt! Don't get an OEM motor w/all its issues with oil rings. Find a reputable shop that builds VQs for durability and perhaps future FI. I.e. good rings, steel rods, forged pistons, etc.

You won't get much more HP than stock, but it will be a solid foundation for a future turbo or SC.

Sorry, I have no idea who builds VQs..maybe Z1???

That's what I'm saying. A swap is pretty much out of the question with my budget. I just never thought a swap would cost so much! It's frustrating thinking I'm going to spend $2-$5k on just getting a stock or little better vq motor...grrr!!!!

Mine blew a couple months ago and it sat in the driveway for like 2-4 months. I just bought a motor from a junkyard, sadly this one is going to blow too I have a pressurized crank case and the oil is leaking through the pvc pipe on to my intercooler and it smokes like crazy! I just found out i had a warranty tho so but all together it cost me 3k for the motor and labor.

Injected Performance and Forged Performance are two of the best to build you a really good motor.

Your not going to be FI + new motor/internals for $4-7K.

Ahh Thank you!!!! that's amazing. I'm not sure if I'd get my core charge back cause I haven't started diggin in my current motor to see what all is wrong but still much worth it. Few months down the road maybe I'll be able to turbo it : ).

With your budget the simple solution is to have your engine rebuilt by a quality builder.

Nelsond pretty much solved my problem, but yeah i guess my next step is to find a reputable shop in west Texas... Wish me luck haha. How I blew the motor- It started knockin at 120K miles and being a busy college student I didnt really take mind of it and continued to drive the car.
