Front tire wear and service
Front tire wear and service
hello all,
I have a 06 coupe AT with about 43k, all stock. 19inch Sport suspension RAS
I am puzzled as to why my front wheels are wearing out faster than my back wheels. Especially the inside tread. I've already "flipped" my front wheels once and they are getting eaten up. I haven't even had to replace my back wheels. I don't really drive agrresively. I do make a lot of short trips and a lot of turns in and out of neighborhoods where I teach.
Could this be an alignment issue? The right tire seems to wear out faster too!
Any input would be appreciated.
Also, I am wanting to service my car on a few items. Brakes, transmission fluid, alignment, throttle body cleaning and belts replaced. I know Infiniti is ridiculous and have been told Nissan dealerships are cheaper.
Any thoughts or should I take it to other chain stores? Plus any good ideas on parts like what type of pads or belts?
Thanks!!!

Have you taken it to an alignment shop yet? That's the first thing I would do. If you still have abnormal tire wear after the alignment, then start looking for excessive wear or play in your suspension components.
Regarding the service items...how handy are you? All of the things you listed (except for the alignment) are fairly easy to DIY. You're right, Nissan dealership will likely be cheaper than Infiniti. Best bet would be to find a local independent shop in your area.
The OEM brakes are quite good (Centric rotors and Nissan pads) so you can stick with those. If you want to check out aftermarket stuff, then Hawk and Project Mu pads are pretty popular on the forums.
Be sure to only use Nissan Matic-J/Matic-S for your trans.
Pick up throttle body cleaner at Pep Boys.
Can't go wrong with OEM belts.

the wearing off of the inside thread in the front wheels is quiet common in these cars, i guess it's by virtue of its design....... but having the alignment done would be a good option..... if ur planning to keep the car for long....... buy the lifetime alignement package from firestone...... it pays for itself.
