Another buyer need advice.

Hi guys,
First of all I used search and read almost every single post in last two month.
I am from Seattle and I am looking for 2005 - 2007 G35 Black/Black with less than 75k miles and only with AT (I had 3 civic with MT, just don't want to race anymore) . My budget 14k-15k.
I am currently driving 1999 Toyota Solara with 160k miles on it, it's good car, but already high mileage and just want to upgrade.
I have been looking for 2 month, so far I found the best deals right now:
2005 G35 AT, with 96k miles for $14k (maybe can go down to $13.5k), good condition, one owner (girl). + I will change headlight anyway.
2006 G35 AT, with 74k miles for $17.5k+ 2 year warranty, also good condition and one owner. Unfortunately it's out of my budget.
Both car with comes with everything and include factory navigation.
I am from Seattle/Portland and here cars cost more than on the east
I will keep car for next 3-5 years and will put at least 15k miles every year.
So probably will put 50k-80k miles on it.
And some questions:
1. Does Oil problem only affect with MT? if I will got AT I don't need worry rights?
2. Is it good deal to get 2005 g35 with 96k miles for $14k, or keep looking...
3. I will change all fluids and belts. Any other things I need to check and change?
4. How much cost extented warranty for 1 year and where I can get it?
5. Anybody tried to use shorter tires for more mpg? For example I had 205/60/16 on my Solara and I had about 21-22mpg, right now I have 215/60/16 and I am getting 17-18 mpg. (Mostly in city)
Thanks everybody

the oil consumption is quiet imminent from 2005 onwards model, irrespective of manual or automatic.......... i'll add change spark plugs, cabin air filter

I would see if the owner of the '06 wouldn't come down, 74K miles at his price is high. Most Infinitis with AT don't have OC issues only the '05+ with MTs. I don't know where you got the idea shorter tires would gain mpg, that's wrong with our G35s! If your concern is MPG find a clean Honda in your price range.

Shorter tires will gain more mpg, but less stability on the road. I tested on my car and also I have read some reviews online and I saw one test bmw 3-series with 5 the same model tires, but with different size. I don't really remember numbers, but I think it was like 245/45/19 get 20mpg, 215/60/16 get 23mpg.
I thought about accord 2006-2007, I tested one and I don't like it. Right now I get 17-18mpg. So I think mpg it's not big problem.

He was selling for $20k, I give offer to him $16k. and after 2 weeks he offer me it for $17.5k. If I no need to pay any taxes. I will buy it.

Just test drove 2005 G35 AT with 96k miles.
I check oil and it was on min, owner said she changed oil 3000 miles ago.
I didn't get chance to pull out spark plugs. I saw dirty oil leaks around dipstick hole and also above this dipstick hole.
Does it mean this car has Oil consumption issue?

No

Since it was an automatic it is unlikely that it has the OC problem, usually its only the revup-engines (manuals only) that are effected by it.

Thanks.

And btw. this car had last schedule maintenance at 60k... Owner didn't do 90k maintenance...
I will take a look later on 2006 G35 with 74k miles for $17.5k.
This car has Infiniti Premier warranty for 2 year, does it cover only powertrain or also electronics and schedule maintenance?
If all good with the car and the owner can go lower to $16.5k I will buy it ... $17k maybe..

Also does all aftermarket led/halo Projectors Headlight sells on ebay are bad quality compare with factory 06-07?

Please don't just pull **** out of your azz to post. That statement is so wrong it's embarrassing you put it up here. The 05-07 automatics have almost no issues with OC.

We have enough clueless n00bs trying to learn about their new cars on here and they don't need incorrect advice like this steering them wrong.

Could anyone who free has access run autocheck or carfax on this car. Please

OMG....that red G35 sounds like a nightmare! Keep looking, find one you like in your price range and mileage. Make sure you get a CARFAX as proved by the results on the red one....

It's possible with the correct dimeter tire you would get slightly better gas mileage but I wouldn't drive it at speed or expect it to stop with that small a foot print. This whole idea is just very wrong, even if your figures are correct you'd be giving up safety for 3 MPG....why?
