Something Burning?
For the past two days, I've been smelling somethings that smells like its burning. I've checked the oil and it looks fine. No check engine lights or anything on in the dash. Don't hear anything scraping. No smoke. Anyone know what it could be? And the engine is running in the middle. Not hot nor cold.

Smells are difficult to nail down, could be two dozen things causing what you smell. Pop your hood and check for things like hose or radiator leaks, that fluid has a very distinctive odor. Could be valve cover gaskets allowing small amounts of oil to hit your exhaust manafold....keep looking!

I'm actually missing a couple, need to go to autozone and get some more. I'm guessing the stealership didn't put them all back after replacing the clearance bulb. That was before I learned to do it myself.

About 5 months ago I could smell what you could call a burning odor. Just so happens that under full throttle my car started shooting out a chimney of white smoke which off course narrows the issue down to be oil. Oil levels where normal and everything fine. After a while of checking possible causes we came across the possibility that either an oil seal was damaged/worn or a valve. Guess what. It was a PCV valve. It needed to be changed and then both the burning smell and white smoke where gone. Motor oil was leaking and burning away, then shooted out the exhaust. It works perfect now and have not had an issue such as this ever since. It could be a cable as well that is frying due to the engine heat. Check to see if any cables are opened up and burning up because of the heat.

Do you have a cold air intake installed? After about 2 months of having my takeda CAI installed I had the same problem. There is a hose towards the left rear underside about 3 inches belowe the throttlebody that becomes kinked. It leads to your PCV valve. I installed a unilcoil ( used to reroute hoses without kinking them) and the smell instantly went away.
