Glad I got my '04

Just for the heck of it, I went to edmunds.com and priced an '05 Coupe 6MT just to see how much the price increased, now that the prices are online. The MSRP for my '04 was $38,760. The MSRP for the '05 with the same options turned out to be $40,390- an increase of $1,630. This was with the 18" wheels to match what my '04 has, not the 19's. I got my '04 6MT for $2200 off MSRP.

2004 Coupe 6MT / Caribbean Blue / Willow / Premium / Navi / Aero Package / Aero Kit / Splash Guards / Clear Corners / July 2004 build

So would I but NOT at the expense of a loss in torque so I don't think it's quite as good a deal as it appears. To me torque is more important so I'm happy with my '04 purchase, plus is has Brembos =)

that price isn't correct. I ordered a loaded (every option available) and according to the published 2005 Infiniti order guide (thanks Grubbs!) it comes to $39260.

This is about a $500 price increase from 2004 (mostly because of the premium package went up).

I'm getting it for well under MSRP as well.

Re: Glad I got my '04

not another 04 vs. 05 thread lol... i guess i'll add fuel to the fire... I don't think the edmunds prices are correct for the 6MT... i was also under the impression that the sport tuned package was standard on the 6MT which means that you can't get the 18s with them... the price increase is actually more like $600 and not the $1600 you see...

if we're comparing 6MTs here, they are basically the same car except for some minor changes... now if you don't care about those changes then the 04 is for you, but if you do care then the 05 is better... considering you can get 05s for a lot less than MSRP, the only real question is whether you can wait for a 05 6MT...

truthfully, i don't see any real reason to get an 04 unless you can't wait for an 05... price wise, they're about the same and considering that the 04 is basically a year old car doesn't help it... the changes to the 05 aren't drastic enough where you can base your buying decision on it IMO... if those little things can swing you either way, then the car probably isn't for you...
