Handling question
Handling question
I know that our cars have a great handling. However, I must say that when I accelerate hard and there are some bumps or uneven areas on the road, the car feels very unstable-vibrates and hesitates which completely kills the fun of taking off both for me and my passenger. Is it just my G or do you all have this happen?
I have 6400 miles on a 04 MT.
It feels that way even with the VDC off.
Thank you for your thoughts in advance.

Re: Handling question
The G does have good handling, but the car is very tail-happy, the Japanese like it that way. The car is quick to lose grip over bumps and stuff, unfortuantely, and with the road irregularities we have on the roads, it practically sends the G flying like a spaceship.
Your best bet is to do the hard acceleration on a very smoooooth road.

Re: Handling question
To optimize tail out fun, or hard twistie driving you MUST take off VDC! Be careful when doing so, because the only traction control you have with VDC off is your right foot and counter steering and all that is manual!

WTF? Im Japanese and I don't like it that way.
I too would agree to take off the traction control for
hard launches. My car doesn't do that, but you might
want to get the car aligned too. Some of our cars have
weird alignment settings from the factory. Chances are
your rear is toe-ing out or close to a toe-out.

Re: Handling question
The G has a relatively stiff suspension compared to most luxo-coupes. Stiffer suspension have a harder time soaking up bumps. The stiff suspension doesn't follow the contours of the road as well(particularly on rough surfaces) so you get moments when traction will lost. Short of softening up the suspension, there is probably little you can do about it.
Re: Handling question
G35C's are stiff? Have you been on a M3?
G35C's sus is soft...almost feels like a sedan.

Re: Handling question
I agree....I also have a '91 300ZX with brand new KYB AGX shocks and Eibach Pro-Kit springs. My G is like a magic carpet ride by comparison. I plan to eventually upgrade the springs to give it a somewhat firmer ride. It's a tad on the soft side for me.
