My 03 G Coupe started to complains on me lately and has been making some knocking noises under the car.

I noticed there are two types of knock, one is through acceleration during cornering (usually up hill), there are squeak coming from the rear. After I parked today, I shake the rear end with my body weight and notice a square coming from the rear left wheel closer to the center of the car. Might that be a suspension bushing going out or need lubrication?

Another knocking sound only happens at slow roll out from stationary position, usually happens when the vehicle is pointed slightly down hill, it comes from the front. It is very loose and sounds like maybe the exhaust or down pipe is hitting the chassis or other undercarriage components? Or might that be something of the engine mount?

Just for the piece of mind, want to know what might i be facing here? any insight will be greatly appreciated! :-)

This is probably not it but my underbody cover right under the engine always comes loose. The plastic breaks a little and it is just stretching on one side and when I go through certain bumps, it would make a noise like a spring is broken. You can check that out.

 

huh, I will check that out. it is weird that it makes a metallic noise with plastic contact, but that is possible. thanks!

 

i have this problem too once in a while...

 

i have a sort of a rattling sound when i begin to accelrate. i read on a forum it might be the cat cover... i dont remember the tread.
