Pull down mirror lights

waddup guys, so i changed my dome lights to leds and now everytime i pull down the mirror it bugs me when i have the regular yellow lights. does anyone know the size bulb i should buy to change them. also does anyone know how to pop of the plastic cover. thanks guys.

It pops out too, just be careful you have to pull on both ends at the same time.

I thought about it, but the white SMDs are super bright, I don't know if I'd want to have something that bright blasting my face, or if a passenger would like that.

Ya I know what u mean but like its just awkward and bugs me that my dome lights are all nice and bright and then the mirror lights are all ehhh u know...

What year is your car? The reason being that they changed the vanity mirror lights at some point (don't remember what year).

On my 2005 coupe, the bulb is soldered to a thin metal plate. You can't remove the bulb from the plate. You basically need to cut the leads going to the bulb and solder an LED board in there. It's not hard...took me about 30 mins. There's a DIY around here somewhere.

On later model years, you can remove the bulb, so just pop it out and replace it with the appropriate LED bulb.

I used the "Vanity Mini 3 Led SMT Festoon" about a third of the way down the page here: http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm

You'll need to remove the LED board from the little capsule. The DIY tells you what to do.
