What bulb should I use for 06-07 projector headlight fog lights ?

My friend is trying to find a good one that will match up with his 6000K HID.

He does not know which one he should buy for his fog lights (H1).

He saw some JDM Super White and JDM Super Yellow Halogen Light Bulbs, but he does not know if the quality is good or not.

Any suggestion ?

He does not know how to do the DIY for HID installation on the fog light so yeah ...

Or anyone knows how to DIY ?

Please give him some advice ...

Why is everyone lost when the answers are right here on DRIVER? Check our MARKETPLACE under Vendor Classified then accessories. Find a vendor selling bulbs, they'll take care of all your needs and at a reasonable price! If you don't see what you want give them a PM, they have the answers....

I am sorry, maybe I didn't explain it in a correct way.

My friend is looking for color matching like what kind of halogen lights he should use for his fog lights to have better outlook than the stock fog lights.

For HID 6000K, we all know that the halogen won't have the same look as the HID does, he just wanna find a better color for his fog lights by using the halogen light bulbs.

Because I do not think those vendor will answer this kind of personal question.

They will just say theirs are the best and fit perfectly ...

He wants to know those people who actually have done it to their car.

He wanna gather everyone's opinion and make a best decision out of it.

Then he can find the vendor who has it then purchase it ...

Thank you.

Do you know how to do the wiring and stuffs ?

My friend does not want to dig a hole on the back-cover for the fog lights.

Is there anyway can get the bulb pass through the back-cover ?

why doesn't your friend pick up a 6000K HID kit for the fogs and if he doesn't know how to install it, he can get a mechanic to do it for him?

There will be NO halogen bulb that will give a light output similar to a 6000K HID. when both are on at the same time you will notice the difference big time.

Thank you for your info, from my understanding is that he is trying to find a better match up with his HID.

Since, the stock foglights are brown + oranger kind of color that's why he is thinking about putting on the golden yellow halogens or super white halogens for better outlook.

He wants to save some money that's why he is looking for DIY or Halogens to replace the stock one.

I have yellow PIAA halogen bulbs for my fogs in conjunction with my stock 4300k HIDs on my '06+ projectors. IMO they look great but its an acquired taste, I've had many friends who insist the yellow mixed with the white at such a close range (since the fogs are integrated into the headlight assembly vs. separate headlight and fogs on my IS) makes it look "cheap". Personally I think its a unique JDM look (also reminds me of the old LS400s and Acuras with the yellow fogs in their headlight assembles) and haven't changed it.

Just about every brand of bulbs will give off a slightly different hue. Your friends 6000k bulbs may be a little "blue-er" or "white-er" than say the ones we sell or any other brand. HOWEVER, because they're sitting behind projectors they'll look very close to something like our Ultra White H1s for $30 SHIPPED since you usually do not stare into a projector you just look at the light output reflected off the front lens. (we also have Hyper Yellow / JDM Yellow Bulbs too)

But to match 100% the easiest way is just to put on a HID kit for the fog and buy two sets of the same kelvin bulbs (4300 stock or 6000k or 8000k etc..) and same brand bulbs. We actually offer a "kit"
$80 High Quality HID FOG KIT Available in 3000K JDM Yellow or 6000K Ultra White!
$95 High Quality HID FOG KIT Available in 3000K JDM Yellow or 6000K Ultra White! SHIPPED!

$70 MATCHING High Quality 6000K Ultra White D2R / D2S Bulbs! These match 100% to the above HID Kit!
$75 MATCHING High Quality 6000K Ultra White D2R / D2S Bulbs! These match 100% to the above HID Kit! SHIPPED!
This may be a little pricey but this will match with any projector or NON projector headlight. Took a little bit for us to find this combo.

As for how to install the fog light.. easiest way is to jack up the car and turn the wheel all the way to get to the lights through the fender liner. You'll need

Floor Jack
Philips screw driver
Flat head to pull out push-in tabs
10mm to take off the fender liner if you have really fat hands

Some common sense:
top hole = low beam
bottom hole = high beam
secure bulbs
do not touch bulbs (the oil from your fingers will create a hot spot and burn out the bulb) - kinda like putting oil on a frying pan (oil area is hotter)

PM me if you have any more questions..

Thank you for your info

Do you know how to do the wiring ?

Because my friend said the fog light bulbs only connected with a wire (flat head) that's why he is having trouble doing the HID DIY himself.

Where you guys located at ?

It's an H1.. it has a small connector (very skinny bulb).

We're located in Santa Fe Springs CA we can install the kit for you as well. We have plug and play HID kits for G35s =)
