That's the dumbest thing I've ever read on this forum.

Its all good in a hard turn, we will turn they will under-steer into a tree. We win.

Mark2K8 06-14-2011 12:48 AM

Tabris 06-14-2011 12:57 AM

lol Audi A4, ugh I would never be caught driving that, my G is sexier and smoother any day; an Audi R8 though is just plain sexiness!

Just remind him which car looks better, sounds better, performs better, and both get about the same MPG.
He could still brag about his trunk space though........

This post is funny.
Anyone that has to mock or claim that a vehicle is a "poor mans version" of a completely different vehicle in a completely different class, have issues of their own to deal with. That guy lacks logic.

On a side note my buddys son once said that H2's are for people that cant afford and H1 and H3's are for people who cant afford an H2. They had an H2 at the time. :BOUNCE: funny coming from a 6 year old.

Wannabe6MT 06-14-2011 01:55 AM

"a4 what"

bluedevils95 06-14-2011 02:05 AM

This thread is already funny! But i have to agree w/ the G side that our exhaust does sound sexy. The A4 does look mean but the G's just looks more aggressive which i like.

Yarik.G35 06-14-2011 02:57 AM

I'd rather drive a G then a Porsche. Own both and the G is much better.

Most intelligent comment I have read on Driver in a while. Keep it up Severe.

silver g 06-14-2011 09:26 AM

Haha! Euro owners always have something bad to say about the G. Just tell your friend his A4 is a glorified VW Jetta.

Exactly!!!

grovefromnh 06-14-2011 10:09 AM

Considering the H2 is built on a Silverado chassis and the H3 is built on a Colorado chassis.

You need to read more. This one, while stupid (what does the word mines mean anyway?) doesn't even move the meter for me...

Your Porsche must be very old and beat to $hit or you're taking serious halucinogenics.

'09 A4 is a really nice car. Makes the interior of a G look like a 1975 Corolla. Love the A4 Avant.

G force 06-14-2011 11:09 AM

Almost every car is the poor man's version of another car unless you're driving around in a Veyron or Maybach. You buy it based on what you can afford and what you want in a car.

Go to the track and race your friend in a 1/4 mile.

A4 isnt exactly a top performer itself, my friend says the turbo lag on his 2007 A4 can be downright dangerous when he needs to move and he can't pull his parking brake all the way up because it hits the armrest (doh).

gary c 06-14-2011 11:11 AM

Infinitis are the top of the line in the Nissan family! I like Nissan products because they're driver cars, my G35 is more fun to drive than my wife's high $ Vette and costs considerably less to maintain. Audi's are a German engineering nightmare to work on, nothing is ever simple or easy....bump!

nah i disagree w/ that, 07 g35 coupe is so $exy.. not many cars around 07 have better insides unless its a higher class car

acee 06-14-2011 11:50 AM

nghiars 06-14-2011 12:08 PM

lol at a 50 grand car being poor mans porsche

rimshaker 06-14-2011 12:56 PM

Everything can be considered someone else's poor something.

I'm perfectly content being "middle class" lol

To each their own. I happen to believe that the interiors in Audis are superior to those in Infinitis. The new Ms aren't bad, but the materials in the G line feel delicate and flimsy when compared to the Audi line. The leather in my 05 feels paper thin. I've been in 07s - it really isn't any better.

I'm not comparing performance - there is definitely a trade off - the G performs better. The Audi, IMO, feels like a better quality build inside and it's definitely a quieter cabin.

The G interiors are pretty horrible when it comes to noise in the cabin.. Especially for a car considered by some to be a near-luxury purchase.

Different strokes. I love my G but also have a lot of respect for the Audi line (maintenance woes aside).

Audi also has an buyer expectation from their brand that Infiniti is still trying to achieve. That means nothing to me but it's there nonetheless.

I still get people who get into my car and say 'I had no idea these were this nice inside - I've never seen one before..."

well i can agree with you on some things, but are you comparing a 2012 to a 03-07 g35.. or 03-07 g35 vs 03-07 audi?

comparing brand new vs old isnt that fair lol

A new Infiniti Journey is $35K. A new loaded Accord is $31K..

I guess Hondas are also middle class. Wow.

The Stimulation 06-14-2011 01:20 PM

You're not supposed to drift an A4, that's why he can't pull the e-brake up all the way :p

I personally was looking into an Audi before I got the G, hell even an early 2000's Carrera. Carrera I didn't wanna deal with the maintenance, not to mention it was a champagne color and an auto.

The A4 as soon as I sat in it, I realized it was too small for my taste. Test drove it and it didn't compare to the G power wise. I was close to buying an A6 but it was a few grand more. The interior takes a huge sh*t on the G's interior. I was looking at the '06 A6. I figured I'd go with the G even though the interior was much nicer on the A6 and larger for maintenance reasons. The A6's interior looks good too. Would still love to own one, but wouldn't want to deal with the cost of keeping it in good health since I'm the type to hold onto a car for quite a while.

That's very true. The G Sedan dwarfs the Audi in interior space - I think it would be more comparable to the A6 in interior dimensions.

Ditto the BMW. People love to compare the G35 to the 3 series (sedan) but the interior of the G is more comparable to the 5.

Actually, I think technically, the Opel GT is considered the 'poor man's porsche'.

SDGenius 06-14-2011 05:26 PM
