Well look at a stock coupe with 18's then add 10mm more to the offset and thats what it will look. I believe the coupe 18's are 18x8 +30. The 18x8 +40 will be sunken in another 10mm from the stock sunken in look.

It's a lot more than you think. Is your car lowered or going to be lowered? With an 8" wide wheel you are going to be very limited on the tire sizes that you can run.

You need to be very carefull with offsets that high, your tires will rub on tight turns making the steering wheel rip out of your hands....been there and it's not fun! Don't buy wheels with offsets that high!

Depends on the wheel width.
Play with this calculator to get a better idea.
http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

It seems that a pretty common wheel is a 10.5" width with an offset of around +20mm for the rear and 9" wide wheel for the front with similar (usually lower) offsets.

Gary does make a point, If the offsets are too high you have to worry about the wheels rubbing on the suspension (been there, my rear wheel chewed up my shock collar).

My best advice is to look through the forum at other set-ups to get an idea of what you like. You can usually find the specs of their wheels posted as well.

lmao at gary lol im running 18x8 +30 on my sedan & it's a little less flush than I would have liked so +40 on a coupe will look really bad imo I think a 10.5 or 9.5 +15 or +10 would look good on a coupe i'm not to sure tho cuz I don't have a coupe.

Bottom Line - DON'T get wheels with an offset that high.
