Burning smell and smoke coming from engine

Recently my car has had a bad burning smell and smoke coming from my car. The car drives like normal and there are no lights coming from the dash. Any ideas of what this could be? I'm confident that my car isn't consuming oil either. What could be the culprit? Please help guys! My vehicle is a 2005 G35 Coupe 5AT (VQ35DE Non Rev-Up)

Although this may seem obvious, did you check your oil Dip stick? When I got my oil changed, the shop didn't put my dip stick all the way back in which caused some oil to come up and it was making a light smoking/burning smell. Are dip sticks are hard as f*** to get it all the way. Atleast for me it is lol. Goodluck!

I checked the oil dipstick and made sure it was in tight. I saw that it was very dirty around the oil dipstick and drove around and the problem went away. However it came back again after I drove the car a second time. How much would it be to cost the valve cover gasket?

If you are under warranty faulty valve covers are common & ur dealership won't even argue replacing them, they leak oil and it pools around the spark plugs, I had this same issue & the valve cover was the reason.

I wish I was under warranty, I'll give them a call to see how much it would be to fix. Is it a difficult job to do?

I'm not sure how much a valve gasket job will cost because me and my friend changed mines out we did all the labor on it.
One way to find out if it is the V gasket is to take that plastic cover thing that sits ontop the motor get a flash light, drive around the block a few times (when it's dark outside)until you notice the smoke.once you see the smoke immediately pull over, open the hood and flash the light around the valve cover area.do all this while the car is still running.

Thanks I'll give that a try, it sounds like I have to change all the spark plugs too.
