What dealer to go for Oil Consumption in Socal?
Are you still under warranty?
Approved for new short block
Yes I am... have about 63k miles now.
So I ended up taking my car to Orange Coast Infiniti in Westminster, a dealership that is less than a year old. I found out that they have some kinks in their service department as I took my car in for the OC test about 2 months ago and was approved for a long block during my subsequent visit. Nonetheless, with my loaner G in hand, I was contacted a day later and was told there was a clerical error and I would need to start the test all over again.
Annoyed, I compromised and started the test again and demanded a synthetic oil change. There was another mixup when I brought the car in again after 1000+ miles -- it turns out they never recorded the dipstick measurement after the oil change and told me I would have to come in again for the "initial reading." Then, after I got in there, they told me that I have actually been approved (for a short block this time) since my oil level was 22mm below the default level on the dipstick after a new oil change.
I was slightly confused but I was not going to ask what the confusion was, but I am treading and documented meticulously. So tomorrow I am bringing my car in... hopefully this OC issue will be resolved, that's all I want!

Any feedback from going to OC Infiniti?
I too am looking for a reputable dealer/service shop.
Sadly, my car is now have oil consumption issues... 06 G35 6mt, started around 50k mark... didn't realize it at first, thought the weird noise was from a bad throw out bearing. Turns out, I was low on oil... chk engine light nor the oil didn't come on until very very late.

I just hit 50k and my car was making a weird clanking noise when cruising in gear.
Thought it was my exhaust but it went away after an oil change (which I do regularly).
My tech said oil was REALLY low.
I have a bad feeling.
My cars modded but I'm going to wait and see and prob eventually take it into Glendale Infiniti without demodding.
I'm not FI so if they give me grief I'll involve a lawyer.BOXER
My car has been in the shop at OC Infiniti now for 10 days. Gave my service rep, Jeremy, a call this morning to find out what's up. He says that Phil, the master mechanic there, is still working on it and everything has been going well. I should get the car back tomorrow.
Noticed that I was low on oil a few days ago. I have a 06 coupe 6mt 33k miles. I was hopping that I had a lucky one and it didnt need a new block.
Is Riverside Infiniti still the place to go? I heard they changed management or something. My car is modded but mostly exterior.
Just need some input.

I don't know about the percentage, but if you do performance mods to your car, odds are you push the car a little, which in turn makes the engine word harder.

No i never got the test because I haven't had any problems other than that one time when it was a bit low. I do check once a month but I'm at 45K and no problem. I usually do my own synthetic oil change every 5k.
