Passenger Door Lock Issues, I dont think its the actuator
I made a video explaining the problem because it was difficult to type out.
http://youtu.be/jWXpegAHSXg
Basically, my passenger side door is not unlocking with the remote. It makes the clicking sound and everything but the door never unlocks. Also, I cannot unlock the door manually using the interior toggle switch. I flick it back and forth and it will not unlock the door. The only way to unlock the door is to open it using the interior passenger side handle. Once I open it that way, it can be opened from the outside over and over again until the car is locked again. I've taken the door panel off and played with the cable and I cant get it to open by tugging on the lock cable with my hands. I understand the actuator can get weak and not push with enough power, but then I should still be able to do it manually correct? I would be willing to attempt the $5 fix using the aftermarket actuator, but it doesnt seem like that would help anything. If I can generate enough force with my hands, how could an actuator?
Does anyone have any other ideas as to what it might be? Basically, the outside handle doesnt seem to be attached to anything until the interior handle is pulled. It's the weirdest problem

there isnt anything else to the lock assembly. its all built in one. normally they just get weak and wont work electrically but you can manually push the lock **** with ease. if yours is kinda jammed then id suspect a bind in the cable (which ive never seen) or something internally in the actuator is broken (also which ive never seen)

did you find out what it was?
i am having similar issue on my 05 coupe passage side, however i do see that it tries to push the lock when i press on the key fob, can i pull apart and clean it?
will that help? or do i need to get a new one.
dont feel comfortable doing he $5 mod
i did spray some wd40 inside the locking mechanism by just opening the door but that did not help.

The $5 mod is really an easy fix. I did it to both of my doors. No problems since. It's nice knowing my doors lock when I press the button.
