Warning !!!! Bad service !!!!

WARNING BAD SERVICE !!!!!
DO NOT GO !!!!

PURRFECT AUTO SERVICE
2323 South Azusa Ave.
West Covina, CA 91792
626-913-2400

http://purrfectauto.com/locations.cf...details/id/111

I needed an alignment and while driving today I saw this shop by Azusa.

Drove in and I think its the Manager or Owner, Asian guy with glasses asks what do I need.

I asked how much for an alignment for my car, sitting outside the window. He said $79.99, I said ok since its is already late and I just want it to be done.

Filled up some paper work and gave my key.

2 minutes after, mechanic went inside my car drove it out and SCRAPED my FRONT continued on and SCRAPED MY MUFFLER TIPS !!! and then drove away.

I immediately told the guy in a polite manner "Excuse me, your mechanic scraped my front and my muffler while driving away, where is he going? "

GUY: Sorry I will tell him be careful, he is taking your car to another location.

ME: Ok, but we have to check on my car and see if all is ok, you said you have a digital alignment machine right so would you please print me out a report so I can see the the alignment was done.

The guy was caught off guard by my request

GUY: Let me ask if they could print you because sometimes computer does not work.

ME: Computer does not work ? so how would you align ?

GUY: What I mean is the printer, do not worry you can feel on the steering wheel if the car is aligned. Calls the other shop and talks on the phone, front bad alignment, back bad alignment and also it is after market springs installed.

GUY: You never told me you have aftermarket springs installed ? so we cannot print the result..

ME: You checked the car and you should know or your mechanic should know. All I need is an alignment I have a camber kit installed (he went blank) and there will be no problem if your mechanic knows how to properly align a car up to spec or close to spec. But I still need a print out to prove it.

ME: On a nice tone, business like voice. Pls. bring my car back and I am refusing your service. How could you prove if the car is aligned properly if you dont show proof. When my car is back, we will both check and see if there is any damage because of the scraping that happened.

GUY: no, you have aftermarket, you did not tell me, yes it looks good but its aftermarket.. we are not liable for aftermarket blah blah blah... I just kept my cool and asked him politely again to just bring my car back and then we will inspect it. I brought the car here in good working condition and good aesthetics and it should leave better, the same and not worse.

Mechanic drove back, he knew he scraped so he went the other way. left the vehicle and he told me that he left the keys on the ignition and left.

I checked around the car, scrape is ok on the tips not noticeable but it should not be there.

The guy even have the guts to approach me and askhow much I am paying him as he did a favor because now I know that I need an alignment.

I told him this:

I came here as a customer, and I am the one giving you a favor for getting your services, I came here to pay and not to get it for free. You should treat your customer with respect and dont B.S. about things that you think I do not know. Will you please give me the paper that I wrote my name and my information. He hesitantly gave it to me, I ripped it in front of him in tiny pieces and threw it away.

BTW... I will post on YELP, GOOGLE, FACEBOOK and all internet sites, forums that I am a member of, let my friends and family members, officemates about the incident just happened today. I am sending a formal complaint to work main office as I know this is a franchise store.

What a day.....

Sucks but why didn't you look around on Driver to see where Socal people get their alignments done? I'd never trust a chain shop to get it right or take care of a lowered car driving it around or even onto 2x4's. Henry @ Temple City Auto's out there off the top of my head. There's also shop or two in the OC as well but the names elude me ATM.

This probably better posted in the Socal regional forums, tho. I doubt anyone outside of Socal would give a flying deuce about it.

I also had a bad experience with them back in 2001.

I ended up making a bunch of flyers and posting it all over the area. That was the "yelp" back in the days. lol

I am just hoping that the mechanic did not drive crazy when he was driving my car to the said next shop... atleast it was rush hour and i know that the streets are packed with cars so kinda bit hard to drive that way...

Call the Irvine Nissan dealership and make an appointment with Martin. Make sure that Martin gets the car, he knows his stuff and will make sure your toe is set properly. I drove down from LA and it was definitely worth it.

I am from Indiana with few custom car shops around so I feel your pain! I have springs and f&r camber arms and toe bolts. Everywhere I took the car to get aligned the mechanic was like:
"uhhhhhhhh"

and I didn't even want to let them f*k with it. Not to mention strapping those big yellow things on my beautiful wheels. I wanted someone who I knew would be careful with my stuff.
Anyways, I was at a local bar and I was flirting with my friend's girlfriend's best friend (confusing lol) and she happened to be the manager at a local firestone and drove a slammed charger. Long story short she hooked it up with a lifetime alignment for $100. I just have to make sure I only take it when this one guy is working.

Like everyone else mentioned above just talk to the socal guys for a reputable place. I wish I had as many customs resources as you have on the West coast.

If you want a stand up shop go to Dynamic Auto Service in Midway City.

4 Wheel Alignment for me was $60, not sure if it's a standard rate but they get you in and out quick and don't jerk you around. Gave me a print out without me asking and it is a legit machine. Might not be slammed height friendly but if you're not too low it will be for you.

Go to Darren at West End Alignment in Gardena, or Henry at Temple City Auto in Temple City.
