Well today on the highway my front lip fell off and i saw it getting crushed by cars behind me . But with all things theres a good side. So i'll be getting a new lip. I don't know if i should go for the same data systems but in carbon fiber... dunno if it would look good on an OB coupe or if i should go with something else. What kinda of lip would you guys replace a data systems lip with? Or would you get the same one. Thanks

 

How does your front lip fall off? Was it not one that used 3m tape and screws?

 

I don't really know either it was messsed up. Screws were on fine in the morning and it seemed to hold pretty well even tho the 3m was letting go on one side but my uncle was gunna redo it this weekend. Might've been the culprit even though i check the lip every time i leave home. Thought about it all day and couldn't understand how it fell off so easily. I'm assuming since one side was letting go the wind from driving on the highway pushed it low enough to scrape the bottom and the whole thing let go? I dunno but kinda stupid of me for leaving it on with one side of the 3m letting go. Oh well things happen :/

 

Up to your taste mang. I don't like the data systems lip, but WTF do I know. I have the Vizage front lip (slightly more aggressive OEM rep). I love it.

 

I think i'm leaning towards getting a different lip since i have a chance to change right now. That lip looks really nice, there was one for sale in my city but he sold it a couple days ago :/. My cars pretty low so i wanna find a lip suits a lowered car... doesn't really make sense but yeah haha.

 

Nah, I feel you. Just keep in mind that any lip is going to bring your front lower than stock. In fact, I don't think my lip is any lower that the DS lip... well a bit on the sides, but not much. Your other options are going to be lower.

OEM lip was discontinued years ago, so it's a little more difficult to find these days. You might catch someone parting out if you're lucky. Maybe ebay, IDK. That's why I ended up with the JP Visage lip instead. Pricey though...

EDIT: Never mind... That price is for side skirts and rear valance too. All fiberglass though, my lip is poly.

 

It came on the Aero package so I think just "Aero" lip or "Sport" lip. And IMO I think the OEM lip looks better than any other one available. I hate the data lip because you can grab a rep for like 65 shipped on ebay so every ricer in rice land has one on his civic hatch.

I waited a long time before I found someone parting an OEM lip. Check junkyards too. I just found a full set of brembos about to be thrown away at a local junkyard!

the car behind you crushed the lip that fall off your car does that mean you have to pay them to fix whatever damage it cause for their car?? but anyways back on topic, data system lip is nice but why not just get a new front since it cost about the same?

I don't know and i don't think it would cause any damage since it was an SUV. But if he did have any damage and stopped when i did i would pay no questions asked but he didn't sooooo..... Now that i think of it i hope nothing happened to his or her car .

Where is the best place to buy the Vizage lip? Isn't it somewhere around the 400 $ mark? I'm willing to pay for a quality product and not really looking for a rep. And plus i'll have bragging rights

Edit: I don't really wanna DS lip anymore cause if i'm paying the same price might as well pay for a change. Not every day that i'm going to be buying a new lip right. haha
